Political circus spells doom for our country
The political circus going on these days scares me. It is getting worse than the TV serials where one sometimes doesn’t know who is married to whom and who is related to whom. Today, political parties are breaking relationships with each based on a dispute as to who will fight one particular seat. I wish they had disagreements on how to fix the various problems of the country as that would assure me that at least someone is thinking of resolving our problems.
I know what you must be thinking. Here is another guy who is complaining / shouting from the outside. I know you must be asking the same questions that a number of people keep asking, that is, “Why don’t you do something about it?” Even Times of India and Economic Times ares releasing advertisements asking the same questions.
Well, I have decided to do something about it. I have decided to get inside to do something. I will contest the next elections if not the current one. My basic premise is that since competition improves quality of products and services, competition in elections will do the same for our country management system (Politics). Since I do not have the money or the inclination to spend huge amounts like all the political parties like Congress, BJP, Samajwadi Party, DMK, Shiv Sena, BSP and others, I will use the net to contest elections. I have started a website www.vote2change.org and a BLOG – OUR COUNTRY OUR VOICE for this purpose where I intend to discuss problems that our country is facing as well as the solutions for the same.
I need your support for the following:
(a) Please let me have your comments whether I am on the right track or not? Also, comment on the problems and solutions so that I can further refine my thoughts.
(b) Tell your freinds, relatives and colleagues about the wensite / blog as I believe more and more people should start thinking about resolving our country’s problems.
(c) Decide to contest elections or convince others to contest elections so that we can increase competition with good candidates (products) in the election industry.

BJP promises measures to combat climate change–

New Delhi (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday promised to undertake steps to combat climate change if voted to power in the coming elections. Highlights of the environment protection policies mentioned in its manifesto:
– Combating climate change and global warming through non-polluting technologies will be prioritised.
– Importance given to programmes to arrest the melting of Himalayan glaciers from which most major rivers in North India originate.
– Protect and promote forests and afforestation.
